On 12 October, Indigenous Peoples’ Day, President Brian Cladoosby of the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) sent a letter to President Obama urging him to free Leonard Peltier in the spirit of reconciliation, and so as to finally put to rest one of many tragic incidents of the past.
