International Leonard Peltier Defense Committee contact@whoisleonardpeltier.info

Greetings Supporters, Friends and Family,

It has been a very busy two week, I want to let you know where we have gone for Leonard. But first, I want to thank you for all generous donations towards Leonard’s legal team. We have reach almost $20,000 in the last six months and Leonard is optimistic we will be able to reach $100,000 by the end of the year. (Donate) I want to thank you personally for helping him keep his hope up to go home!

On Feb. 9th I went to Atlanta to speak about Leonard at the opening of Mumia’s new book tour. I met with some of Leonard’s Southern supporters and networked with Leonard’s allies, as we shared stories of Leonard and Mumia’s resistance to Judicial misconduct in both of their cases.

On February 11th, we had a wonderful Meet & Greet in St. Petersburg, FL. to introduce Leonard’s lawyer David Frankel to the Tampa Bay Area. It was well attended and a successful fundraiser. if you want to put together an event for David Frankel, Leonard’s attorney to speak on the current status of the legal team’s work to get Leonard back into court. Please call me, 218-790-7667.

I attended the Amnesty-USA general meeting this past weekend in DC. It was wonderful to meet old and new supporters who care about Leonard. Leonard has been an Amnesty International Prisoner of Conscious for many years. AI-(London) produced one of the best reports on Leonard’s struggle to expose the misconduct of the FBI and his struggle for freedom. AI-USA will be issuing an Action Alert regarding Leonard’s struggle for healthcare. So, AI members get your pens ready to write a letter in support of his request for a prostate operation that a specialist said was necessary 2 years ago. This is the same request I put to all our supporters encouraging you to write Warden Charles L. Lockett, USP Coleman1-P.O. Box 1023, Coleman FL 33521, a couple of newsletters ago.

We had a wonderful opening at the Language Law Art Show-Artists for Leonard Peltier, in Los Angeles, CA. David Hill, our traveling Board Member, was there to speak about Leonard’s case and bring folks up to date on his health care issues. The art show will be an open until March 24th. Please check it out Los Angeles Water School 316 South Anderson St. Los Angeles, Ca 91030

Leonard was asked to be the Guest of Honor at the Angers Group of Amnesty International, France art show. It will be from March 8th – 18th 2018; called Artists For Freedom. It will be at Salons Curnonsky, 6 Place Maurce, Sailland Angers France. We sent 5 paintings for this show and hope our French friends will enjoy meeting Leonard’s People in his paintings. He has sent a statement of solidarity and thanks for this honor.

Please check out our event page each week as many of our Board Members travel and speak on Leonard’s case. They always like to meet and greet his supporters and old-time friends.
Also, if you are having an event in your area, please send us the information and we will gladly post to the Event page and our Facebook page to advertise your event.

I want you all to meet our new board member, Oklahoman Mark Maxey a Yuchi Indian, enrolled in the Muscogee Nation, an Oklahoma AIM. He stepped up, when asked to join the National Board and I hope all our supports in Oklahoma get a chance to meet him. He has made arrangement to have a Peltier booth at many of the Pow Wow’s starting in April. Please check out our event page and his FB page to find out where he will be and meet him.

I want to thank you all again for your continued support. I owe some of you thank you notes, I have been very busy. I will get caught up. Please know I do appreciate all your support for Leonard, and the Defense Committee. Drop me a note at contact@whoisleonardpeltier.info or call me 218-790-7667 or come by for coffee and some help with filing, or organizing our work room, 116 W Osborne Ave. Tampa, FL. 33603
